Most of the choices presented have only a couple of options, and they are made with familiar swipes. Form a unique image, build up political power and earn a reputation as a wise, tough, but fair ruler. Play as a ruler, who must make important decisions that affect not only the development of the state and its inhabitants, but also his own destiny. Looks like it will be $3 on mobile, with no word on the Steam price yet.Reigns: Her Majesty is a sequel to a very unusual medieval monarch simulator. Reigns: Her Majesty is coming to iOS, Android, and Steam on December 7th. Maintain the balance between the kingdom’s most powerful factions, use mystical items from your inventory, and navigate the increasingly complex politics and personal relationships of your dynasty. Outwit and outlast those that would seek to depose you and your husband by swiping left or right, making just (or unjust) decisions on all manner of royal matters. In Reigns: Her Majesty, a cultural renaissance has bestowed the world with a new era of knowledge and enlightenment, but greed and jealousy still conspire against the benevolent queen. Damn, I might have to play through the first one, anyway. This version adds an inventory system, new stacks of cards, and even the reemergence of some of the kings you may have a passing familiarity with from the first Reigns. It does have a few new mechanisms hiding under its Tinder-like gameplay, however. It’s still the swiping left and right and choosing how you want to handle each crazy event that pops up. Or, I might delete it and just download the sequel, Reigns: Her Majesty, which is coming to all platforms on December 7.įrom all appearances, it seems like Reigns: Her Majesty is pretty much just Reigns but with a Queen instead of King. One of these days I’ll really dig into it and realize I had an awesome game right under my nose all this time and it will be great. Apparently, if you stuck with it, all sorts of special story-driven stuff happened, but I didn’t have the patience to keep playing. Swiping left, right and ending up…somewhere? I just couldn’t figure out what all the hubbub was about. I know it was everyone else’s 2016 GOTY, but I just couldn’t get into it at all. I’ll admit that I didn’t get the first Reigns.
